Canadian born Leslie Knauer's impressive career started with multi-platinum success. As a teenager, Leslie fronted the band PROMISES, a family band that included her two brothers. Their two albums were huge hits, winning gold and platinum status all over Europe and Australia. Their Number One Smash Hit "Baby It's You" is considered a bonafide classic and still enjoys a tremendous amount of airplay around the world.

Next, she garnered a solo deal at Capitol Records, then four more albums as the lead vocalist for PRECIOUS METAL - again penning a tune, "This Girl", that climbed to number nine on the European charts.

With KANARY, Leslie is again challenging herself, this time she is not only relying on her stellar writing and vocal abilities, but she has also assumed the role of sole guitarist.

Throughout her career, Leslie has remained an incredibly prolific songwriter; many of her songs have been featured in Film and on TV, and have been covered by other recording artists.

Here's the latest: Just out on DVD, 2 of Leslie's songs are in the film CHOKE starring DENNIS HOPPER. Leslie and band KANARY are currently in the studio recording their 5th independent CD, entitled "Only Dead Fish Go With The Current". Some exciting news there...the band is planning to record a cover of Leslie's PROMISE'S hit, BABY IT's YOU...possibly with a surprise guest star to sing the other part of the duet!
